This ring features a dark grey base solid Opal set in Sterling Silver. (n.b. The darker the base the more prized is the Opal, providing it shows colours of course!)
The Opal is 13mm by 9mm at it's longest and widest and featuresa a patchwork of greens and blues against the dark base, the ring needs movement as the many areas of coluor show up as the stone is moved, you will get noticed as the colours catch the eye.
The ring is a one of freeform design to complement the stone, due to the open nature of the ring it can be adjusted easily to accomadate many finger sizes.
You also have the choice of wich way to wear it, my idea was for it to sit over the the knuckle on the back of the hand, but it works eqaully well the other way around.
Please note I design these as special wear items and not as everyday wear, they are meant to really catch the eye and will definitely get you noticed.
Due to the unique nature of Opal and the fact that I work from eye with no drawings this piece will be totally unique, nobody else will have the same thing.
The Opal is from Lighting Ridge, I buy parcels of rough rock and shape and polish to bring out the stone inside.
Many sites and shops would be selling the Opal stone alone for many times the price of this ring.
Opal has seen large rises as more and more miners give up the search for this wonderful product of nature.
