This last sequence of photos shows the adding of ballast chips and tamping down. The modeller has two options however. The track can be ballasted before pinning down with just the camber added after pinning. This allows excess ballast to simply be shook off over a sheet of clean paper. If you have to hand a 12 volt car vacuum cleaner it is perhaps easier to pin the track and do the side cambers at the side cambers at the same time as the main track, once ready simply vacuum up the excess (obviously u ensure the vacuum collection bag is clean or even better, new)
